Thanks to both of you; I appreciate it. And, Trish, I'm glad you shared your experience - it helps negate the nutjobs' Big Lie about the "cattle calls." In addition to my own experience, I've held the hands of several friends who have been through it, too, and concern for the woman was always paramount. No one wanted a patient to undergo a procedure she didn't want, or to make a decision she didn't want, or to forego the possibility of carrying to term if that's what she really wanted. In every case, they wanted us to know what the full range of options available to us were - and what the ramifications of pursuing any one course of action might be.

That's one of the reasons why this "post-abortion syndrome" crap makes me so angry, too. I've been intending to blog all week about that piece in the NYT Mag, but I've been out of town and short on time. I'll be getting to it later today.

Excellent post. I had a similar abortion clinic experience and chose to have my son. I am still glad I had the choice, and everyone there was nurturing and understanding. I hate seeing statements made about them having "cattle calls" and such when claims are made how they treat women.
