I wonder... could we persuade Mad Kane to write a parody "Blog Stalking" to the tune of "Jive Talking"? Yeah, I know; the Bee Gees are ancient history by now, but think of the possibilities:

Blog Stalking... you're publishing lies,
Yeah, Blog Stalking... can't wear my disguise...
... etc.

Anyone of any political stripe who sets out to cause bloggers problems in their real-world lives deserves legal action. I haven't followed the story in question... too much crap to read, and I read plenty already... but I can't help hoping the perp's one day find themselves in the dock for crossing the wrong person, say, a law blogger.

I blog under (more-or-less) my own name. That's an old habit that is probably not an especially good idea in this day and age, but it's too late for me to change now.

Yeah, little green, I know. You're absolutely right. It was actually one of a series of slides from someone's presentation; the presentation as a whole had cites, etc. But I was a) tired, and b) feeling rushed for non-blogging-related reasons, and since I recognized the content of the slide (if not the spelling, syntax, etc.), I just grabbed it.

I'm usually a hard-ass about my research, as my blog buddies will probably tell you. But when I threw this post up, I wanted a quick and dirty image that would make the point, so I could get on to other things I needed to be doing besides blogging. Not up to my usual standards at all - but then again, this is T&P we're talking about, after all . . . .

And no worries: Your comments were not taken as criticism - or, rather, they were taken as constructive criticism and a valid point that I expected to arise. Unlike the subjects of said post, I don't regard pointing out potential flaws in my argument (or its "accessories") as outing-worthy blog-stalking. :-D

Yes, I have middle-aged *chuckles* or older eyes, but I was able to view the .gif after clicking. Did you notice that "minor" is misspelled as "miner," then there is "Aanti" and the syntax is, well, muddy to sloppy in places? It makes me seriously question the validity of it. Why say a Standard Psychological Text? At the base level it would be a "standard psychology text," but why not name it, if it is a real source?

Note, please, I am not criticizing you, just applying critical thinking to what I see in the .gif.

NTodd, your very existence pokes at them with a stick.

Besides, don't go bringing up things like sticks when Pasty is the topic of discussion - enough phallic issues there already . . . .

Thanks, erizzle. Your point is one of the things that worries me. Some of these people are truly unhinged, and they're clearly constantly spoiling for an opportunity to fan what we all thought were long-dead flames into a whole new conflagration.

I need to blog pseudonymously; I can't do this under my own name. But even if I did blog under my own name, I can't envision myself ever outing a right-wing blogger. If I were being stalked [true stalking, not online derision], I can see myself reporting that person's identity to the police, but outing someone to the blogosphere because - what? He said mean things about my logical capacity? And when yous trip away the layers of bullshit, that's what this episode amounts to, frankly.

But if I can't poke at the wingnuts with a stick, I'm gonna have to go back to pulling wings off flies...
