Walking the Western Road: For Z

We’re going black again for four days . . . .
Let not the things of the earth that delighted you cause you to linger.
Do not allow the things of the earth that troubled you to hinder you now.
Now we release you, for it is true that it is no longer possible
For us to walk about together on the earth.
In Beauty’s Way, it is done.
Another sudden death in the family - this one, in the BF’s family. Too young; no warning. Now too many lives sundered by grief.

Yes, I know I missed last week’s larceny. No, I am not going to make up for last week. Just resuming.

We know neither the beginning nor the end, but must celebrate the life that occurred in between. I wish I understood the reason there must be sadness in our lives; perhaps it is to teach us to comfort one another.
I hope such comfort comes at all the right moments and I extend my condolences to each of you who grieve.

Thanks, Kevin. It all helps, even if we don’t see it at the time. This was truly one of those “out of left field” things; we had no idea she was sick, and I don’t think she really realized it, either. Everyone’s still reeling.
I don’t know what to say about it. God, what a year - a couple of years, actually. They say there’s light at the end of the tunnel, but I don’t see it yet.
